Happy Easter!

Isabella and Halston got these little wooden crosses at

church on Sunday and could not wait to show us.

When we asked about this little cross they were proud

to say, "Jesus LIVES!"

Spring is finally here and there are so many beautiful

things all around us. Take some time and enjoy the

ordinary miracles given to us by an extraordinary Man.

Happy Easter to you all.

Christmas

We woke up to a white Christmas this year in Grapevine...and, I don’t know what it is about waking up to snow that just makes you feel like a kid again. Isabella & Halston are 3 & 5 this year, and Christmas is a BIG deal. Isabella & Halston were very specific about what they wanted from Santa. Isabella asked for frogs...yes, FROGS?!?! Halston wanted a skateboard and made sure to tell me every day that he was a good boy and that Santa was going to be so happy with him:) Blade and I had more fun than ever this year shopping and surprising the kids. This Christmas marks our 5th year here in the DFW area, and it seems just like yesterday when we moved here. We had a very Texas Tech Christmas at the Van Stavern house...from the tree decor to the gift wrapping to all the Tech football drama. We took off on the day after Christmas (Blade’s birthday) for Midland to to see all of his family. After a few days of fun, food, & family, it was off to Amarillo to see my family for more fun, food, & family. We all had a fabulous time and miss everyone back home!!

Christmas has come and gone and a new year has started with a BANG! 2010, we are ready for you!! Bring it!!!

Isabella's First Day of Kindergarten

Wow, where did the time go?!?!? Today we sent our sweet little Isabella off for her first day of Kindergarten. She has been excited for this new KINDERGARTEN adventure all summer! She was fine up to the point where mommy said, "I'm going to go, but I will see you soon!" The water works started and broke my heart. We have been reading "The Kissing Hand," to prepare her for this day, so I kissed her little hand, and with tears in my eyes too and a lump in my throat I turned and walked away. No one could ever prepare a mommy for this day. It was so hard to leave my baby girl at her big new school.

33 Baby!!!

I feel like the older I get the better my Birthdays are! I celebrated my birthday all month long, with my friends and family. On my BIG day Blade told me to pack a few things he was taking me away for the night. Well if you know me you know I hate surprises, but this was a great one. First he took me all the way to Hamilton to eat at our favorite hamburger joint, Storms, by this time I am a happy girl! After Storms we hoped back in the car, jamming to Patsy Cline bound for a little R&R in Glen Rose. Glen Rose is a little town an hour away from the big city. The second we stepped out of the car in Glen Rose I went into a picture taking frenzy. We spent the day walking around taking in all the quant little shops and friendly people of Glen Rose. That night we had dinner at a fabulous local restaurant, Riverhouse Grill. We walked around till the sun went down before we ended up at our little B&B. All in all it was so nice to just get away, relax for a second and have some time with Blade.

Special thanks to Melissa for Bellinis and pizza, The Van Stavern/Ambrose Gang for a fun night at Bucca, Phillip & Cheryl for beautiful flowers and Mi Cocina, & Eli & Momma Jacques for a girls night out at Truluck’s, it was fabulous!!!

Last but not least thank you to my husband for always thinking of new ways to to show me how much you love me. Blade, you are amazing and I love you!

I am so blessed to have such amazing friends and family, who love me and keep me feeling young.
