I can't believe my baby girl is 5! She is growing up so fast these days. Before I know it the summer will be gone and she will be off to Kindergarten. I love the person she is becoming & can't wait to see what my little butterfly does next.

Summer Vacation
We love you Florida! What a blast, we ran off to Florida for a week of fun in the sun, beach bum style. Not only did we eat good, play hard, & soak up some rays, but we enjoyed some wild animals (not our kids) & a Cirque Du Sole show, Saltimbanco...WOW, it was amazing!!! While in Florida, I also had a chance to see my good friend Katina and catch up as well as take time for some goofy pictures together - it's a Katina and Ashley thing, lol!!! Katina and her beautiful kids had us over for some swimming, play time, and dinner - thanks KT - we had a fabulous time!!! It's very hard to say good bye to the beautiful weather, Ocean, and palm trees and come back to reality, but it sure was nice for a while...we love you Florida.
A special thanks to Pepaw and Sassy for having us down to vacation with you. Also, thanks to Matt & Lauren for being so great with the kids.

We are so glad to say good bye to Winter & welcome to Spring. You know Spring has arrived in North Texas when Blue Bonnetts start popping up all around. Everything is turning green, the colorful birds are back, & we are ready for some fun in the sun! Happy Spring everyone:)

Christmas 2008
Our Christmas
Wow, what a Christmas we had. First came Grommy (my mom). We had a great weekend making a cake, riding on the North Pole Express and going to Bella's Dance Recital. Bella's dance class dressed like little green trees and danced to Charlie Brown's Oh Christmas Tree...,it was precious!!! The next weekend was Pepaw & Sassy (Blade's mom & dad) they came just in time for Blade's Birthday, the day after Christmas. Pepaw & Sassy always go above and beyond for Christmas and this year was no different. All I can say is that Bella's room looks and sounds like a farm now...,think I am exaggerating come and experience it for yourself(: Lastly came Pop & Chelle (my dad and his wife) what a fabulous weekend. My dad is like a little kid when it comes to Christmas gifts...,they barley got here and dad said, "let's open gifts!!!" The kids had no objection to opening the gifts so off they went. We ate and played our way through the weekend.
Well, now our kids are on serious grandparent detox & sad to see all the Christmas deco come down. We are looking forward to 2009 and excited to see what the new year brings!

God is so good and hears our prayers!!!! All you Prayer Worriers keep the prayers going for Rusty, he still has some healing to do and needs to get his strength back.

Thanksgiving
Much to be thankful for...
We had a fabulous Thanksgiving in Amarillo this year. My mom is an amazing cook, and she always pulls out all the stops when we get together for Thanksgiving. Mom let Bella help with everything from the decorations to the food. My mom is convinced that Bella will be a great Chef...it will have to skip a generation(: She also thinks that Bella will be a Photographer, but I think she will be so scared from me always chasing her around with my camera that she will stay as far away from photography as possible. I, on the other hand, am convinced that Bella will be a Cowgirl(: Bella, at the moment, is in LOVE with horses!!! When we pull into Amarillo, she knows that means a few things...family & HORSES! We try every time we make it home to go ride with Pop, and this time was no different...except we forgot the camera and missed out on a great photo opp. My dad is blown away by Bella's love and interest in all his horses.
I love that my parents are creating wonderful memories with my kids and leaving a legacy.
Oh, and Halston, he could care less about anything that's not a car or something with wheels on it...lol!!!
Trick or Treat

Well, the Van Stavern Gang had a West Texas Halloween. We made our way to Amarillo to get our Trick or Treat on with our cousins Claire & Britton. The kids had a great time going house to house holding hands. We took pictures in Granny's beautiful oak tree...,it has always been a hot spot for family pictures. My aunt Vickie made her famous popcorn balls and my aunt Liz made her fabulous carameled apples, not to mention Sassy & Chelle sent cookies and and to top it all off Grommy made a run to the Donut Stop...YUM!!!! So I guess you could say we ate our way through Amarillo. Then it was off to Lubbock for the Tech vs. UT game...,YEA, GO TECH!!! After the the game it was off to Midland to see Pepaw & Sassy and eat some more, Taco Villa of course. Finally we made it home on monday worn out, sick and fat....,that West Texas can be a dangerous place...LOL!!!

My poor kids are going to figure out one day that when my camera comes out that they should RUN!!! Isabella & Halston are my two favorite subjects to shoot, and now that it is fall, Momma has the camera out all the time. I love everything about the Fall, the weather, the changing colors & the falling leaves.
Halston's second Birthday & Halloween are right around the corner, so yes more pictures to come, LOL!!!

Where Does The Time Go?
I can not believe these are my babies, where has the time gone? Bella is back at School and loving it. Bella loves hanging with her friends and family, playing outside, dancing like a wild woman and most of all bossing everyone around, I don't know where she gets it?!?!(; Halston is into one thing these days...CARS, yep our days are full of all things cars. These two crazy kids bring more love and joy into my life than I ever thought possible..., God is so good!!!

Girls just want to have fun!!!
Lauren's Bachelorette weekend in Vegas was a girls dream. We shopped till we dropped, laughed out loud lots, dressed up and danced like Rock Stars!!! Lauren is blessed beyond belief to have such amazing girlfriends. I can't wait to see all you crazy ladies in Midland for the wedding!
A Little Bit Of Heaven
A bit of Heaven can be found in Ingram Texas, located in the Beautiful Hill Country, and it goes by the name of Little Bend. We spent a long, relaxing weekend floating the river, cooking out, and eating smores...YUM!!! It was nice to just hang out with family, laugh & play, and enjoy all the simple pleasures of God's beautiful green earth. Thank you to the Ritchies for having us down and letting us indulge in the Little Bend experience...it was much appreciated. On our way back to Grapevine, we stopped in Hico, Texas. If you are ever driving through Hico, make some time to stop and experience this quaint little historical town - you won't regret it! We enjoyed fine, handmade chocolates from Wiseman House along with Dublin Dr.Peppers in frosted glass bottles while walking up and down Main St. and around the square. There were so many fabulous shops and friendly people that I was ready to come back before we had even left. It's always nice to find another reason to love TEXAS!

Dancing with the Stars
LA Baby!!!
A trip such as this is hard to put down in words, but I will try my best. As you can see by the pictures, we had more fun than should be allowed. We shopped and dined like rock stars at places I have only heard of till now. We had lunch at The Ivy and dinner at Koi, Mastro's, & Ketchup...just to name a few. We shopped on the famous Robertson Blvd. & Rodeo Dr. in Beverly Hills...as well as the Grove where we ran into Rihanna("umbrella, aaa") and Chris Brown - oh such eye candy everywhere!!! Katina & Jason were such gracious hostesses & their kids as you can see are BEAUTIFUL and sweet taboot. Dancing with the Stars was a blast, and Jason once again blew us all away with his dancing skills...Go Team Jason!!! We partied after the show at Villa with the DWTS cast, where Katina & I danced with Derick Hough. While we were chillin' at the Villa, we got an in prompt to concert by Kid Rock where he sang a few songs...one being Sweet Home Alabama - it was so AWESOME!!! But to top off the night, David Beckham made his way in and everyone was in AHHH...what a gorgeous man. Katina had a full on glam squad helping us get ready - what a treat that was. It's not easy being a STAR...LOL.
